Holiday with a Baby – Your Checklist

If the first Travelling with a baby is coming up, it’s very exciting for everyone. You can no longer just set off spontaneously like you used to, a good planning is crucial. Because there are so many things to think about. We have put together what we consider to be the most important things that should not be missing on a holiday with a baby. Feel free to download the checklist here for free.. Then you can tick everything off at your leisure.

Travel documents

  • Passport – you will definitely need this if your trip takes you abroad. Make an appointment with the relevant authority in good time and bring a passport photo of your baby with you. Passports are issued directly on site. Bear in mind that passports for babies or young children are now only valid for one year.
  • Vaccination certificate: depending on where your journey takes you, additional vaccinations may be required.
  • Health insurance card

Travel first aid kit

It is best to discuss the planned trip in advance with your paediatrician. If your baby has any allergies or intolerances, your doctor can tell you exactly what else you need to bring. Otherwise, we recommend that you make sure to have the following items with you:

  • Fever-reducing medicines such as paracetamol or ibuprofen (depending on age, as suppositories or syrup)
  • Nasal spray or nasal drops
  • Medication for diarrhoea
  • Dressing material

Food and Drink

Of course, this very much depends on where your journey is taking you. Find out in advance whether the right type of baby food, for example, is available in the local supermarket at your destination.
